Making space for the good life
Every adventure starts long before you reach the trailhead. It's shaped by the moments before. Finding the jackets. Packing the cooler. Loading all the gear. Making sure nothing gets left behind.
For many of us, the biggest barrier to getting outside isn't motivation. It's the accumulation of small moments that slowly turn a simple outing into a logistical exercise.
Somewhere between work, family, and the responsibilities of everyday life, adventure starts to feel like one more thing to organize.
But what if it didn't have to?
The best outdoor products don't create adventure. They create the conditions for it. They remove friction. They simplify preparation. They help us spend less time managing our things and more time making memories with the people around us.
That's what drew us to RUX, a company that believes making space for the good life starts long before you leave home.
For Elias Campbell, every day is an exercise in balance. As the founder of Waves & Fades Barbershop, a father, and surfer, his schedule rarely slows down. Running a business. Raising a family. Finding time for the ocean. Each demands the same twenty-four hours. Adventure isn't something that happens after life slows down. It's something he intentionally creates space for.
Making Space for the Good Life is about building a life where adventure still belongs. Because the outdoors isn't separate from life. It's one of the reasons we live it.

RUX Company Story
Every detail of a RUX product exists to solve a problem that most outdoor enthusiasts know well. Not the adventure itself. Everything surrounding it.
The company traces its beginnings back to a garage in Whistler, where founder Andre Charland found himself surrounded by storage bins, duffel bags, truck boxes, and loose equipment while preparing for another weekend outside. Instead of thinking about the cabin he was headed to, he was thinking about where everything was.
His reaction was simple:
"This blows. We can do better."
As co-founders Tony, Trina, & Jamie joined Andre, they realized this frustration wasn't unique. Whether preparing for a mountain bike ride, loading surf gear, organizing a family camping trip, or simply trying to leave the house without forgetting something important, they were all solving the same problem in different ways.
The challenge wasn't storage. It was friction. RUX was designed to remove it. Every decision reflects the same guiding belief:
The less time spent managing gear, the more time available for the experiences that matter.
Once you understand the problem, every design decision begins to make sense.
"Everyone says you can't buy happiness, but if you don't have time to be happy, then you're not going to have happiness."
Every RUX product is intentionally designed to simplify how people organize, move, and live with their gear. Good design has a way of disappearing. You don't think about the hinge. The latch. The material. Or the way everything fits together.
You think about the road ahead. The trail waiting for you. The friends already there. The best products quietly remove obstacles until the only thing left to think about is the experience itself. That’s exactly how RUX believes great design should work.
The RUX system packs quickly, loads easily, adapts to different activities, and disappears into the background once the adventure begins. Its collapsible form saves space when it's not in use. Its modular system adapts as your adventures and your life change. Its durable construction is intended to withstand years of use rather than seasons of replacement.
And through RUX's Design for Disassembly philosophy, the company continues to think about the product's entire lifecycle; from how it's built to how it can be repaired, recycled, and ultimately kept in use longer.
That's what makes thoughtful design so powerful. It shifts your attention away from the product and back toward the moments it makes possible. Every detail serves the same purpose: spend less time managing your gear and more time using it.
The best companies begin with a way of seeing the world. For RUX, that perspective is simple: Life should be organized around experiences, not possessions.
The team behind RUX believes that the outdoors shouldn't feel like another project to manage. It should remain accessible. Spontaneous. Welcoming.
Whether you're packing for a quick afternoon ride, a weekend camping trip, or helping your family get out the door, thoughtful systems create opportunities to say yes more often.
That philosophy extends beyond the products themselves.
In the end, RUX isn't asking people to become more organized. They invite people to spend less time thinking about their gear and more time Making Space for the Good Life.
